    What is PNG?

    Portable Network Graphics

PNG is a lossless format: it keeps every pixel exactly as it is and supports transparency. That makes it ideal for logos, icons, screenshots and graphics with sharp edges or text. The trade-off is file size: photos saved as PNG are usually much larger than the same photo as JPG or WebP.

    What is JPG?

    JPEG image

JPG (or JPEG) is the most widely supported image format in the world. It uses lossy compression, which keeps photos small by discarding detail the eye barely notices. It does not support transparency, and repeated saving at low quality can create visible artefacts around edges and text.

How do I convert PNG to JPG?

Drop your PNG images into the converter above. They are converted to JPG instantly in your browser, and you can download them one by one or as a ZIP.

Is this PNG to JPG converter free?

Yes, with no watermark and no ads. Use it 3 times without signing up; after that, a free one-time sign-up gives you full access. You can convert up to 30 images at a time. Access is subject to our Terms of Use.

    Are my images uploaded?

No. Conversion happens entirely on your device, in your browser. Your images are never sent to a server.

    Will I lose quality?

At the default quality most people see no visible difference. Use the quality slider and the before-and-after comparison to find the balance you like.

    What happens to transparency?

JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background colour you choose. White is the default.
