FAQ

Questions, answered.

Need help with images at scale? Talk to our team.

What is the ideal length for a meta title and description?

Google shortens titles by pixel width rather than a fixed character count. Titles up to roughly 580 pixels (often 50–60 characters) and descriptions of about 120–158 characters usually display in full on desktop. The tool measures both for you.

Does Google always use my meta description?

No. Google often rewrites titles and descriptions to match the search query. A clear, accurate title and description still improves the chances that your own text is shown and clicked.

How are the suggestions created?

They are generated from your page’s own content (headings, existing tags, key phrases and calls to action) using proven title and description patterns, then measured to fit Google’s display width. No AI service is used, and nothing is sent anywhere else.

Is it free?

Yes. You can check 3 pages without signing up. After that, a free one-time sign-up (email and phone) gives you full access to the checker and every other RoundPatch tool. Access is subject to our Terms of Use.

Do you store the pages I check?

No. We fetch the page once to analyse it and send the result to your browser. The page content is not saved.

Why does the social preview look different from Google?

LinkedIn, Facebook and X use Open Graph and Twitter tags (og:title, og:description, og:image) when a page provides them, which can differ from the SEO title and meta description.
